Bouncedown for Brad
Across the Nullarbor, nearly 3000kms from Flinders, a special group of friends recently gathered for their annual footy match to remember their mate Brad Richards, while also raising $20,000 for cardiac research at Flinders.
Brad died suddenly three years ago from a rare genetic heart rhythm condition called Long QT syndrome.
But the generosity of all involved in Bouncedown for Brad at Fremantle Oval will fund two exciting gene discovery and machine-based learning projects by experts at Flinders Medical Centre.
This research will look to develop new tools to better predict which patients with Long QT syndrome might be more likely to undergo sudden cardiac arrest so doctors can intervene earlier.
Brad’s legacy will no doubt save lives. Thank you.
