WHO WE ARE
At Flinders Foundation, our purpose is you.
We want you, our community, to live a longer and happier life.
That’s why every day, our team works to support the leading clinicians and researchers across Flinders Medical Centre and Flinders University to deliver better research, treatment, and care, and ensure they are equipped with the latest technology, in the best environment. From cancer and mental health, to neonatal care, and everything in between
- we’re working together to prevent, cure and care.
Meet Patricia, an ECMO machine saved her life
Lee-anne and her sisters sat in a hospital waiting room while doctors worked next door for hours, trying to revive their mother, Patricia. Doctors tried desperately to bring her back to life on four separate occasions.
Patricia had suffered a pulmonary embolism (a blood clot in her lung), one vital piece of medical equipment kept Patricia alive, an Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) machine.
Flinders Foundation has been touched by many people who have had their lives changed by disease or illness. These are the people who continue to inspire us every day, and we will not rest until their health challenges are overcome.
